The predictability and
consequently success of a project more often that not hinge on
the utilisation of good quality processes and systems and their
effective implementation. Our proprietary ScOPE methodology, which
is used extensively by Scientific Concepts in our management of
projects, incorporates a dedicated quality management model.
Information Security
Prior to acceptance, our
Indian partners are vetted specifically on their information
security measures and the procedures they employ to guarantee
safety of information in relation to both theft and loss. Our
assessment covers many areas including physical security of the
building (internal and external access and monitoring),
electronic data management and staff practises.
Due to the nature of the Indian
contract-engineering market, awareness of quality is
generally very high leaving little if any gap between India
and Europe.

Capability Maturity Model (CMM)
The maturity of an
engineering organisations is frequently measured against
the criteria of CMM. The CMM paradigm is similar to the
ISO9001 standard but whereas ISO9001 specifies a minimal
acceptable quality level for development processes, CMM
establishes a framework for continuous process improvement and
is more explicit than the ISO standard in defining the means
to be employed to that end.
CMM describes a five-level evolutionary path of
increasingly organised and systematically more mature
processes. Scientific Concepts deals exclusively with
business of CMM level 3 or higher, which means that our
partners have as a minimum "defined standard processes for
their technology development with attention to documentation,
standardisation, and integration" and are undergoing regular
certifying audits against them.

The requirements cover a wide range of topics, including your supplier's top management commitment to quality, its customer focus, adequacy of its resources, employee competence, process management, quality planning, product design, processes to resolve customer complaints, corrective/preventive actions to drive continual improvement of the QMS. Last but not least, there is a requirement for your supplier to monitor customer perceptions about the quality of the goods and services it provides.
